What to expect.
I provide lifestyle on location pet photography which is fun, natural and creative and comes with lots of cuddles, kisses and praise. I always have your pet’s best interest at heart and work to make sure they are comfortable in their surroundings. Sessions generally last for 1 to 1.5 hrs and I’ve found this is adequate time to get a great selection of shots. I aim to get a selection of images which include some more posed portrait shots, close ups, candids and playful action shots. You can of course be included in the session also, if you want to capture your relationship with your pet and I always encourage this, sessions can include up to 2 people and 2 pets. While I mostly photograph dogs I do also photograph the family cat and other pets including horses, birds and more.
How to prepare.
It’s best to make sure your pet has been exercised prior to the session as we don’t what them to be too high energy when I come to photograph them. It does of course help if your pet has had some basic training and responds to commands, but for those naughtier pets bribery often helps. I always bring along treats and toys myself, but ask that you also bring along any of their favourite toys or treats that you would normally use with them and know they respond well to. As much as I would like to be, I’m not a professional dog trainer, so this is where I will often get your support to assist me with commanding your dog, gaining their attention and keeping them focused. My aim is to capture your dog being a dog. Sometimes it’s a matter of just going with the flow no matter your dogs training or energy level we can always achieve results.
